All Audio-Visual equipment is handled by the Technicians whose office is located on the 6th floor, Room 6.29. At least 24 hours notice is required for any extra equipment. We are unable to guarantee the setting-up of any equipment if we do not have at least 24 hours notice.
Staff needing to be registered for access to the computer systems should see the ICT Technician. This process can take up to one working day at busy times so please ensure you arrange this in advance of needing to use the computer.
Processing of student registrations will take up to 5 working days and cannot be done instantly. Helpsheets on how to self-register using Activate are available in the Open Access Computer Pool Room on the 6th floor and in the LRC or here.
A computer set up for disability access is located in both the Library and the Open Access Computer Pool Room on the 6th floor. Both the PCs have electrically height adjustable desks and monitors mounted on moveable arms. These PCs have software installed on them for visually impaired users and the Library PC also has a range of disability access equipment including keyboards and pointing devices.
All staff PCs are connected to the nearest laser printer in their office. Paper should be supplied by the home institution and will not be supplied by UCH.
Staff are welcome to bring in their own laptop to use at UCH. These are subject to being checked by the ICT Technician on first use to make sure updates and anti virus software is installed to a satisfactory standard. Once checked, the ICT Technician will either supply the necessary details or help to set the laptop up for access to our network and Internet connection.
