School Outreach
UCH works closely with Aimhigher Sussex to raise the aspirations of local school pupils and to help students many of whom are without a family background in higher education to realise their full potential.
Ever year we host an annual two-day ‘Create the Future' creative careers event giving students the chance to take part in various activities such as creative writing, recording and architecture with the aim of educating local people to the careers options available to them. They work directly with existing UCH students, many of whom are from local schools who further encourage the idea that education is open and accessible to everyone.
We also run university taster days at local schools giving local pupils an insight into the range of courses available locally and allowing them to experience the university learning environment. Working with students, teachers and parents alike to raise awareness of the higher education options and breaking down barriers to education.
